Alignment of Multi-Frequency SAR Images Acquired over Sea Ice Using Drift Compensation

چکیده
We investigate the feasibility to align synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery based on a compensation for sea ice drift occurring between temporally shifted image acquisitions. The alignment is requirement improving classification by combining multi-frequency SAR images acquired at different times. Images obtained frequencies provide complementary information, thus reducing ambiguities in separation of types and retrieval parameters. For we use displacement vectors from algorithm pattern matching. are organized triangular mesh used piecewise affine transformation slave onto master image. Sea Ice Classification Using Multi-Frequency Polarimetric SAR Data
This paper discusses the capability of the complex Wishart classifier for sea ice and classification using multifrequency, fully polarimetric SAR data. C-, L-, and P-band data acquired by the JPL AIRSAR in the Beaufort sea was used. Classification using the unsupervised Wishart classifier is a twostage process. An initial classification is required to seed the algorithm and can be derived using...
متن کاملOn Sea Ice Characterisation by Multi-frequency Sar
By means of polarimetric target decomposition, quad-pol SAR data of sea ice is analysed at two frequency bands. In particular, the non negative eigenvalue decomposition (NNED) is applied on Land C-band NASA/JPL AIRSAR data acquired over the Beaufort sea in 2004. The decomposition separates the scattered radar signal into three types, dominated by double, volume and single bounce scattering resp...
متن کاملICA-based classification of sea ice SAR images
We have applied Independent Component Analysis (ICA) to sea ice SAR data to produce vector bases describing the elementary textural features in sea ice and use the projections of sea ice SAR image data to the sets of these basis vectors for classifying the SAR data. In this paper we solely concentrate on the classification based on the texture.
متن کاملSAR Sea Ice Recognition Using Texture Methods
With the development of remote sensing techniques, a vast amount of SAR sea ice imagery is being provided by satellite platforms. As an important aspect of measurement, monitoring, and understanding of sea ice evolution during the seasons, the generation of ice type maps is a fundamental step in the interpretation of these data. The abundant texture information in SAR imagery is useful for segm...
متن کاملImproving Multiyear Sea Ice Concentration Estimates with Sea Ice Drift
Multiyear ice (MYI) concentration can be retrieved from passive or active microwave remote sensing observations. One of the algorithms that combines both observations is the Environmental Canada Ice Concentration Extractor (ECICE). However, factors such as ridging, snow wetness and metamorphism can cause significant changes in brightness temperature and backscatter, leading to misidentification...
